My grandpuppy Norman loves peanut butter.  But even more than that he loves these home made dog treats made with his favorite food by my daughter.  You won’t believe the good feeling you get when your puppy gulps down these treats that you made from scratch.  Plus, no chemicals and low sugar! Ingredients: ⅔ cup pumpkin puree  ¼ cup peanut butter (choose an all natural no sugar added version if you like) 2 large eggs 2 ½ - 3 cups flour (choose whole wheat flour for a nuttier taste) Mix everything but the flour until well combined. Once you start adding the flour the mixture will get pretty dense so you may want to break out an electric mixer for the next steps. Add the flour a little bit at a time until everything is well incorporated.  The batter will be pretty stiff by now and that’s a good thing since it needs to stand up to the cookie cutter.  If you think the batter is not stiff enough for the job just add some more flour. Knead the dough 2-4 times over, until it all comes together. Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thickness and cut with your favorite cookie cutter. Arrange the treats on a baking sheet.  But first:  The dough does not have much fat in it so you will need to either sprinkle some flour or cover over the baking sheet with some parchment paper so the treats don’t stick. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-30 minutes until the edges of the treats develop some color. Cool the sheet on a wire rack so that the bottoms don’t burn. Your Norman will thank you! My daughter Maddy made a video of her making this recipe.  Watch the dog treat video.
